CNC Milling & Turning

A mainstay for any precision machine shop CNC milling and turning has been at the heart of the VES Precision workshop for over 25 years.

Using this technology the company has produced millions of precision components for use in applications such as aerospace life-support systems and engines, moulds for healthcare prosthetics, oil rigs, food production and packaging.

With 12 CNC milling machines and 12 lathes the company has the capacity to produce a high volume of work.

CNC Milling

Much of our milling work for the aerospace industry includes machining of castings. These castings are often formed from a super-alloy and operations include thread-milling, internal and external diameters, datum machining, profiling and spot-facing.

For the commercial (packaging) industry we produce punch profiles from D2 material. This may include hard-milling and tolerances are typically 20 microns. We produce hundreds of thousands of these components each year.

CNC Turning

The majority of our turning work is produced for the aerospace industry. The ability to repeatedly produce complex components with high tolerances from a broad range of materials, on time and within budget has made VES a preferred supplier of choice.

Surface finishes achieved during turning are up to 8 micro-inch.
