Bespoke Engineering

Whilst VES is predominantly a subcontract engineering machine shop, we also have CAD-CAM capabilities, which allow us to carry out bespoke design and manufacture in house.

Our 5-axis CNC milling machine is perfectly suited to producing complex forms from a variety of materials and our broad range of machining centres provides us with capabilities to fulfil almost any requirement.

Reverse Engineering

We can also offer reverse engineering. A good example of this has been for a customer who had difficulty in finding a CNC machine shop that were able to reproduce thousands brass components for the refurbishment of vintage lace weaving machines.

Obviously, there are no suppliers still producing this type of equipment as the machines are over 100 years old, and there were no drawings or references for sizes or tolerances. The task involved taking worn samples and developing new components for a perfect fit and finish with continuous feedback from the customer.

Needless to say, with help from VES the customer was able to give new life to their machines, guaranteeing continued supply of this world-famous product for many years to come.

The order was delivered on time and to budget.
