CNC Turn-Milling

4-axis Turn-Mill machines provide VES Precision with 1-hit machining capabilities. As the name suggests, it is possible to perform turning and cross-drilling operations on the same part in a single set-up.

This allows multiple features to be produced without additional handling which in turn reduces lead times and risk of set-up errors caused by loading and re-loading.

For large batch production VES utilises lights-out machining capabilities overnight in order to improve productivity.

With 65mm bore size for continuous supply of stock from the bar feeder, or chuck holding options for larger billet work we are able to turn diameters, drill cross holes and drill holes off-centre all in one continuous operation without having to remove the component from the machine.

This range of movement also allows us to produce complex geometric shapes in a fully automated fashion and perform 24 hour machining. Indeed, these machines contribute greatly to our ‘lights-out’ machining operation.

VES has recently purchased a new CMZ 4-axis turn-mill machine which is highly specified to include glass-scales, high pressure pump for the supply of coolant and also a chiller on the coolant side in order to achieve excellent thermal stability.

Our machines routinely produce forms with tolerances of 20 microns.
